AKLAN – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) has arrested Aklan’s No. 5 most wanted person at the provincial level during a manhunt operation in Barangay Poblacion, Ibajay town, at around 12:26 p.m. on September 16.
The suspect, identified as alias “Albert,” 41, and a resident of Ibajay, was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for frustrated murder under Article 248 in relation to Article 6 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by RA 7659. The warrant was issued on September 15, 2025, by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 2, Kalibo, Aklan, with a recommended bail of P200,000.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Ibajay Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Aklan Police Provincial Office (PPO) Trackers Team, and the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG). The suspect is now under the custody of Ibajay MPS for documentation and proper disposition prior to turnover to the court of origin.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, PRO-6 director, praised the dedication of the operating units, noting that the arrest reflects the police force’s firm commitment to justice.
