Alliance Global sets digital shift to ‘future-proof’ businesses

MANILA – Billionaire Andrew Tan’s Alliance Global said Thursday it would embark on a 5-year digital transformation program to future-proof its real estate, liquor, gaming, hospitality, restaurant and infrastructure businesses.

Alliance Global will form a core group with representatives from its companies to “synergize” initiatives, said Tan’s son and the company’s CEO, Kevin Andrew Tan.

“This program allows us to study our existing technology across all businesses and assess where we can further enhance them and achieve innovative solutions,” the younger Tan said in a statement.

“Our vision is to make each company become ready for the future of business in the next 10 years,” he said.

Megaworld started using advanced home technologies in its developments while Emperador is pursuing the development of its e-commerce platforms, Alliance Global said in the statement.

Resort World Manila’s operator, Travellers International Hotel Group, is also enhancing its RWM app to provide convenience to guests and VIPs, it said.

McDonald’s Philippines franchise holder Golden Arches Development Corp, introduced “NXTGEN” stores with self-order kiosks and card payments.

The program will also provide opportunities for investments in technological innovations to support existing businesses, Tan said.

“We are open to acquiring platforms, and even companies, that focus on particular innovations that are relevant to our various businesses,” he said. (ABS-CBN News)
