Ambulance-pickup crash in Passi hurts 3

ILOILO City – Three people were injured when an ambulance and a pickup vehicle collided into each other.

Among them were Elias Lalantacon and wife Josefina. They were on board the ambulance. The other injured was pickup driver Eulogio Fortin.

Police said the crash happened at around 4 p.m. last Friday in Barangay Man-it in the component city of Passi in Iloilo province.

The Lalantacon couple were residents of Dueñas town.

They were bound for the Don Valerio Palmares Sr. Memorial District Hospital for a checkup at the time, said Superintendent Arturo Fullero, Passi City police chief.

The Mitsubishi pickup was running the opposite direction, Fullero said.

Elias and Josefina Lalantacon sustained body injuries. They were taken to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro district here.

Fortin was confined in the Don Valerio Palmares Sr. Memorial District Hospital. He sustained head injuries./PN
