THE Junior Chamber International (JCI) Iloilo Ilang Ilang is extending the deadline for the submission of nominations for “Ang Ilongga Awards,” the Search for Outstanding Community Women Leaders in the Province of Iloilo, until June 15, 2018.
JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang president, Lenore Angeline Divinagracia, said the deadline of nominations aimed to accommodate more nominations from the province of Iloilo.
“The extension of deadline would provide opportunities to those who have yet to nominate women who they think are great leaders and as well as have created positive change in the society,” said Divinagracia.
“Ang Ilongga” Awards is an annual search organized by JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang which seeks to identify and give recognition to women leaders with extraordinary accomplishments, creating positive change and sustainable solutions to issues and concerns affecting their communities.
Divinagracia said nominees should be at least 18 years old and above, bonafide residents of the province of Iloilo, emerging community leaders who may or may not be working with people’s group or civil society organization, and who are in the field of community justice, peace and order, health and wellness, education, culture and arts, entrepreneurship, agriculture, fisheries and forestry, or disaster risk reduction and management.
Nomination forms are available and can be downloaded from www.iloilo.gov.ph or in the official Facebook page of Ang Ilongga Awards.
Nominations must be submitted through angilonggaawards@gmail.com with the nominee’s name as subject heading on or before June 15.
Nominees will be judged based on the following:
*Leadership (30%) – The ability of women to lead, transforms and inspires her fellowmen to attain goals in line with the development of a certain community. This also highlights her display of visionary thinking to bring about positive change.
*Women Empowerment (20%) – Refers to her ability to empower women through institutionalization of reforms to eradicate gender bias and discrimination; ensuring health, safety and well-being of women; implementation of enterprise development; and promotion of education, training and professional development for women.
*Community and Civic Involvement (20%) – Refers to her involvement or participation to various community and civic programs organized by both the public and private sector which resulted to the empowerment of women and development of their family’s wellbeing.
*Social Impact (30%) – Refers to her significant accomplishments that brought positive change on the social fabric of the community.
Ten candidates will be shortlisted based on the accumulated scores in four criteria. The search committee will choose five finalists subject for final interview, onsite validation, and background investigation to ensure that awardees are deserving of the awards./PN
