Antique coronavirus frontliners commended

SAN JOSE, Antique – The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) led by Antique Police Provincial Office director Colonel Roy Parena as chairperson, commended the frontliners for their services in implementing community quarantine protocols in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus in this province.

Deputy Speaker and Antique lone representative Loren Legarda applauded the personnel of the health sector, security groups, local government units, other government agencies and private organizations for their self-sacrificing efforts.

To help the frontliners, she urged her fellow Antiqueños to always follow the directives of staying at home, practicing social distancing and other preventive measures against COVID-19.

Likewise, Antique Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo cited the untiring support of the composite teams, which are the ones assigned in quarantine checkpoints, the hospitals and other health facilities, and from the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams.

For her part, Gov. Rhodora Cadiao issued Executive Order (EO) No. 36 for the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine  and EO 37 for the interim guidelines of the “Work-from- Home” arrangement and support mechanism for the duration of the State of Public Health Emergency pursuant to Proclamation No. 922.


With the declaration of the enhanced community quarantine, Antique temporarily closed its airport and all seaports, along with its provincial borders in the towns of Hamtic, Anini-y and Pandan. 


Earlier, Cadiao issued EO No. 35 and EO 35-A for the strengthening of the measures in preventing the spread of COVID-19.(With a report from PIA/PN)
