ANTIQUE — The Antique Provincial Police Office (PPO) has received 12 new patrol cars and information technology (IT) equipment from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to further strengthen police mobility and anti-crime operations across the province.
The turnover ceremony was led by Antique Police Provincial Director Colonel Lea Rose Peña and was attended by representatives from the recipient police stations and local government officials.
Peña said the newly issued patrol vehicles are part of the PNP’s continuing efforts to enhance police visibility, improve response time, and bolster crime prevention in local communities.
“These additional patrol cars will significantly strengthen our operational capability and police presence, especially in far-flung areas,” Peña said.
In a media interview, Peña emphasized that among the priority thrusts of the current PNP leadership under Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. is the provision of mobile patrol cars and IT equipment to all local police stations nationwide.
Along with the vehicles, the Antique PPO also received 19 desktop computers and one laptop to support administrative and operational requirements of police units.
The patrol cars were distributed to 11 municipal police stations, namely Barbaza, Belison, Bugasong, Caluya, Hamtic, Patnongon, Sebaste, Sibalom, Tibiao, Tobias Fornier, and Valderrama, as well as to the 2nd Mobile Force Company.
Peña, however, called on local government officials to assist in the maintenance and operational expenses of their respective police stations to ensure the optimal and sustained use of the newly issued equipment.
Police officials said the additional resources are expected to enhance the capability of local police units to serve the public more efficiently and help maintain peace and order throughout the province.
The patrol vehicles were formally received by the chiefs of police and the municipal mayors or their authorized representatives during the ceremony. (PIA)
