BACOLOD City – An Antiqueño was stabbed to death in Barangay Paloma, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.

Charlie Candido, 23, of Barangay Igsoro, Bugasong, Antique died while undergoing treatment for his stab wounds on the abdomen and right arms at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.

A fellow resident of Igsoro, Bugasong attacked him on Sunday. Reynante Berdin, 25, used a double-bladed 12-inch knife, Valladolid police said.

Both were working as cane cutters at the sugarcane plantation of Tony Treble in Hacienda San Luis, Barangay Paloma, Valladolid.

Candido was rushed to the Valladolid District Hospital before he was transferred to the regional hospital.

Berdin remains at large as of this writing./PN
