SAN JOSE, Antique – The Antique provincial government will ask Malacañang for a two-day holiday during the Biniyaran Festival on Dec. 28-29.
Gov. Rhodora Cadiao on Tuesday said the provincial government processing the request. Cadiao said she wants the people “to really enjoy the festival’s highlights.”
The Binirayan Festival has a yearly reenactment of the first settlement of the Malays in Barangay Malandog, Hamtic.
The provincial government allocated P3.5 million to the festival, organized by the Binirayan Foundation, Inc (BFI).
The BFI on Tuesday had its reorganizational meeting with the committees. BFI wants to come up with a grander festival this year, Cadiao said.
Cadiao said these early preparations are efforts to attract more tourists in Western Visayas. (PNA)
