Antique’s RPT collection rises by P1.6M in first quarter of 2025

ANTIQUE — The Provincial Assessor’s Office (PAO) of Antique reported a P1.6 million increase in Real Property Tax (RPT) collectibles for the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year.

According to Provincial Assessor Atty. Silvestre Untaran III, the province collected P224,873,375.42 in RPT from January to March 2025, up from P223,272,639.22 during the same quarter in 2024 — an increase of P1,600,736.20. The office aims to boost collections by at least one percent by year-end through intensified property assessments and enhanced tax mapping efforts.

During the first quarter, PAO processed and approved 1,426 assessment transactions, including transfers, reclassifications, and assessments of land, buildings, and machinery. It also discovered 328 new real property units, expanding the province’s tax base.

The Assessment Records Management Division issued 1,790 certified copies of tax declarations, 731 Certificates of Landholdings, and 353 Certificates as to Improvement/No Improvement, while the Tax Mapping Division conducted nine ocular inspections across various municipalities.

In compliance with Republic Act No. 12001, or the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act of 2024, the PAO, in coordination with the 18 Municipal Assessment Offices, is currently computing the Schedule of Fair Market Values (SFMV) for submission and approval by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF). The move lays the groundwork for the upcoming General Revision of Assessments and Property Classification, which aims to ensure fair, accurate, and transparent property valuation across the province.

Adding to its milestones, the Provincial Assessor’s Office was recognized for its exemplary performance during the Regional Awarding Ceremony held on October 9, 2025, in Iloilo City, organized by the Department of Finance (DOF), BLGF, and Regional Association of Treasurers and Assessors (REGATA VI, Inc.).

The Province of Antique, through the leadership of the Provincial Assessor’s Office, received several distinctions for its exemplary performance. Among these were a Plaque of Recognition for achieving a 6 percent year-on-year growth rate in real property assessment, and a Certificate of Commendation for ranking Top 2 in the Timely Submission of Assessment Reports among the six provincial assessment offices in Region VI for CY 2024. The province was also cited as the Top 2 Best Performing Provincial Approver of the Quarterly Report on Real Property Assessment (QRRPA) in Region VI for the same year.

In addition, Pristine Marie V. Duma-og and Ma. Teresa B. Parreño were recognized as Top 2 Best Performing Provincial Focal Persons/Reviewers of the QRRPA in Region VI for CY 2024. Antique likewise received commendations for being Top 2 among provinces in Region VI with a 14.06 percent increase in taxable assessed value, and Top 3 in collection efficiency on Real Property Tax (RPT) with an 85 percent rate for CY 2024.

PAO reaffirmed its commitment to efficient tax administration and transparent governance, emphasizing that updated valuations and accurate property assessments are key to sustaining Antique’s fiscal growth and supporting its local development initiatives./PN
