ROXAS City – A Philippine Information Agency (PIA) kiosk on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) will open at Robinsons Place in Pueblo de Panay on May 16 to kick off the display of the information materials about the international body and other government programs in six identified showcase areas in the province.
The kiosk, to be put up by PIA, will run until May 21 as part of the intensified information campaign on Asean in line with its 50th anniversary celebration and the country’s hosting of the association’s meetings.
Mayor Angel Alan Celino has been invited to lead the ribbon cutting and other highlights of the opening program.
Arrangements are also being done for a week-long display of the PIA info kiosk at the City Mall Commercial Center and Gaisano City Mall along Arnaldo Boulevard.
“We are also planning to bring the kiosk to Hercor College and Capiz State University in time with the opening of classes,” explained PIA Capiz information officer Jemin Guillermo.
The kiosk will be an opportunity for the public to know about regional integration and its many opportunities for Filipinos.
The kiosk launching at the Robinsons Place will be followed and complemented with a briefing on Asean among members of the Capiz Association of Government Public Information Officers, Inc. and local tri-media practitioners. (PIA/PN)
