ILOILO City – Former and current players
of Sta. Clarita International School Primes are set to reinforce the
Asialink/E&C Trucking in the Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Basketball Tournament
which starts today at the Jaro Gymnasium here.
Bannering the team are current Far Eastern University Tamaraws players John
Bryan Sajonia and Ronrei Tolentino as well as Colegio de San Juan de Letran
Squires recruit Frank Steven Tono.
Joining them are former and current Primes players Ryan Calamaan, Marvin
Cuerbo, Ralph Bajon, Jemar Cepriano, Robert Vegafria, Ralph Saban, Giann Nahine,
Jofel Badoles, Kimrey Servano, Erl Tan, Kenneth Balasote, and King James
Gaborno.
Asialink team manager Philip Punzalan Doce described his team as the reunion
squad of the Western Visayas team that placed runner up in the 2017 Palarong
Pambansa in Antique.
“We like our chances here because ‘yung
mga players namin very familiar
with each other even if they are now playing for other schools,” Doce said. “Ang promise lang namin is we will try to keep in step with other teams in the
tournament.”
Asialink/E&C Trucking was one of the eight teams in the tournament aside
from P. Doce SBC-Iloilo Doctors College, On D’ Move Sportswear-CPU, DPWH, TEJ
Builders, Estancia Mariners, Guimaras Leopard, and Uniwheels.
Opening day assignments will feature Estancia vs Guimaras, Asialink/E&C
Trucking vs Uniwheels, P. Doce SBC-Iloilo Doctors College vs DPWH and TEJ
Builders vs ODM.
