Augmentation force helped keep Iloilo peaceful – IPPO

ILOILO – An augmentation force of around 100 police officers from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) helped the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) keep the recent holiday season peaceful in this province.

These policemen were deployed most especially in municipalities with insurgency problems, according to IPPO director Police Colonel Roland Vilela.

Prior to their deployment, the 100 police personnel completed a field training program.

Soon they will take the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC).

“The 100 police personnel were really a big help to us especially in our police visibility patrol. They also manned transport terminals,” said Vilela.

They were a “critical support” in achieving our goal of zero major crime incidents, he added.

During the holiday season, the IPPO was on full alert status and all its police force was on duty.

“I warned them to be alert and avoid drinking liquor while on duty at baka malasing sila at hindi makabantay. Bawal talaga ang inom and those violating this order may pagkalalagyan,” said Vilela./PN
