BACOLOD City – The City Engineer’s Office is contemplating a temporary closure of the road from Barangay Cabug to Barangay Handumanan to enhance safety and prevent accidents during construction.
According to City Engineer Loben Rafael Ceballos, the plan is in response to numerous complaints and reported accidents in the area, attributed to insufficient early warning devices.
Although measures have been taken to install these devices, ongoing construction and vehicle traffic continue to pose significant risks, he said.
The contractor overseeing the project has proposed the closure as a measure to safeguard both the workers and the public, and to expedite the completion of the roadwork.
This action is also aimed at ensuring the project’s completion before the onset of the rainy season, to avoid further delays, said Ceballos./PN
