ILOILO – A 20-year-old student was apprehended in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Bolhog, Batad town on Saturday evening, May 11.
Batad police caught alias “Nicky,” a resident of the town’s Barangay Cabagohan, after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.
A total of three sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P6,800 were seized from the suspect.
Police Captain Ma. Rosela Buenvenida, chief of the Batad Municipal Police Station (MPS), said the suspect sourced his supply from Estancia town.
Buenvenida also confirmed to Panay News that the suspect became involved in the illegal drug trade due to the influence of his peers.
The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of Batad MPS.
He will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
