BACOLOD City – The city government is gearing up for the turnover of new housing units to qualified beneficiaries under the national government’s Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino Program (4PH).
The Asenso Yuhum Housing Project, located in Arao, Barangay Vista Alegre, aims to provide decent and affordable housing to locals.
During a recent orientation event at the Asenso Yuhum Village Clubhouse, Executive Assistant Rodel Parcon, who heads the housing cluster, said the Bacolod Housing Authority (BHA), in collaboration with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), Scheirman Construction, and Pag-IBIG, prepared the beneficiaries for their new homes.
The orientation is part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s flagship housing initiative.
Parcon said 125 individuals are slated to occupy buildings 1 and 2 of the project.
“The Asenso Yuhum Village is a key component of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez’s administration, aiming to address the housing needs in Bacolod,” he said.
The status report as of July 5, 2024, showed that 293 out of 296 units have been assigned, leaving three units as model homes.
Applicants must complete their paperwork and meet all requirements before the units can be officially handed over.
Emmanuel Villaera, a 57-year-old beneficiary, expressed his excitement: “To have a roof over our head, to have a home that we can call our own, is one of the ultimate dreams of ordinary Filipino people.”
The beneficiaries of buildings 1 and 2 are expected to be the first group to receive their units, while the construction of buildings 3 and 4 is still ongoing. Following the orientation, beneficiaries were given a tour of the housing units./PN
