BACOLOD City — The Bacolod City Government has begun releasing more than P199 million in financial incentives and bonuses for its workforce, a move Mayor Greg Gasataya said is intended to boost employee morale and improve the delivery of public services.
On December 18, Gasataya signed disbursement orders for several incentives scheduled for release before the end of the year. These include P45 million for the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) Incentive, P30 million for the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), P8.815 million for the Productivity Incentive Allowance or Performance Enhancement Incentive (PIA/PEI), and P25 million for the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB).
The incentives will benefit regular and plantilla casual employees of the city government. These are on top of the year-end bonus released in November, which was equivalent to one month’s salary and amounted to P52.203 million.
Meanwhile, Job Order (JO) and Contract of Service (COS) workers will receive P7,000 each in gratuity pay. The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approved an appropriation of P29.176 million for the grant during its regular session last Tuesday, according to Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, chairperson of the SP committee on finance and appropriations.
Gasataya urged city employees to translate the additional benefits into better service for Bacolodnons, stressing that the incentives come with an expectation of efficiency and accountability.
“We appeal to our regular employees as well as our job order workers to translate these additional benefits into improved public service. This is part of our commitment to recognize their hard work while ensuring that our people receive better and more efficient services,” the mayor said.
To ensure the smooth processing and release of funds, Gasataya secured approval from the Department of Finance to extend the appointment of Acting City Treasurer Gary Gecosala, whose term was set to expire this year. He also thanked the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), headed by Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla, for the prompt issuance of the Notice of Eligibility that allowed the Performance-Based Bonus to be released within 2025./PN
