BACOLOD City — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bacolod City has clarified that voter registration for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) is being conducted exclusively at Robinsons Place Bacolod, debunking social media posts claiming that registration is taking place at SM City Bacolod.
City Election Officer Atty. Kathrina Trinio-Caña said a post circulating online from “Negros Updates” stating that voter registration is being held at SM City Bacolod is false and misleading.
“Please be informed that voter registration is currently being conducted at Robinsons Place Bacolod and not at SM City Bacolod,” Trinio-Caña said.
The registration site is located at the Main Atrium of Robinsons Place Bacolod. Registration will be conducted from May 13 to 16 and on May 18, 2026, the final day of registration, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Comelec also clarified that no voter registration activities are being held at the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) located at the Comelec Bays Center during the said dates.
As part of preparations for the Nov. 2, 2026 BSKE, applicants are advised to bring both the original and photocopies of all documentary requirements. Only those with complete documents will be issued queue numbers.
Trinio-Caña encouraged registrants to have their documents photocopied in advance to avoid delays, noting that mall operations begin at 10 a.m.
Applicants are also advised to bring their own ordinary ballpen and wear proper attire for biometrics and photo capturing. Sleeveless tops are not allowed.
Comelec Bacolod said only 800 queue numbers will be issued daily, regardless of transaction type, on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority lanes are available for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and heavily pregnant women.
Although registration officially starts at 8 a.m., applicants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure smooth processing.
The Comelec urged the public to remain vigilant against the spread of unverified information online and to rely only on official announcements from the OEO Bacolod City.
