Bacolod SP creates new city gov’t post

BACOLOD City – The city government will soon hire an assistant administrator.

This after the Sangguniang Panglungsod approved in its third and final reading an ordinance creating the position “Assistant City Administrator” or “City Government Assistant Department Head II” in the plantilla of the City Administrator’s Office.

The new position was created as a response to the “ongoing developments in economic and infrastructure” in Bacolod, said Councilor Caesar Distrito.

“The City of Bacolod requires a lot of administration efforts and an assistant city administrator is necessary to support and to work hand in hand with the administrator particularly in terms of developing plans and strategies relating to enhancing the management and administration-related programs of the city and in instituting effective administrative reforms,” Distrito added.

The councilor said they passed the ordinance in line with the provisions of Republic Act 7160, or the Local Government Code of 1991.

Distrito said the city council is deemed to “determine the positions, powers, duties, and salaries of officials and employees of the city.”/PN
