ILOILO City – A barangay tanod in Buga, Leon, Iloilo shot himself. He claimed the Revolutionary Proletarian Army – Alex Boncayao Brigade wanted to kill him.

Julian Camino, 51, hurt himself in the house of his cousin Wilmar Tubiera in Barangay San Jose, San Miguel town on March 14. He was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Camino shot himself in the head using a .38 revolver, according to Police Officer 3 Remus Cabag of San Miguel.

From what the police gathered, Camino sought refuge at Tubiera’s house because rebels were supposedly targeting him. Investigators, however, were not discounting the possibility that the village watchman was suffering from a nervous breakdown.

Camino was acting strangely days prior to the shooting, police said./PN
