BACOLOD City – Posting an operator at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) elevator is being proposed.
In February, two employees of Panay News, who were supposed to visit the offices of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (third floor), Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran (second floor), and the Public Information Office (third floor), got trapped inside the elevator.
City Administrator Pacifico Maghari III said he would raise the proposal with Benitez.
The building’s elevator is now operating after almost two months of maintenance since it malfunctioned. The spare parts needed were not immediately available, explained Maghari.
“It is already fixed and safe to ride,” said Maghari.
The city administrator also advised building administrator Amy Tentia to conduct regular monitoring and check-ups./PN
