ANTIQUE – The province had a peaceful Holy Week, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and Antique Provincial Police Office (APPO).
PDRRMO head Broderick Train said no major incidents were reported, particularly on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.
The presence on major streets of personnel from concerned agencies, including the Philippine Coast Guard, Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and Department of Public Works and Highways, among others, ensured peace and security, added Train.
On its part, the APPO positioned personnel and established assistance desks at places of convergence, such as churches and tourist destinations, from April 3 to 9.
APPO spokesperson Police Major Adolfo Pagharion said the public’s cooperation by following the police advisory also helped./PN
