BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has its new head.
Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo replaced Superintendent Roderick Minong as the officer-in-charge of the BCPO.
The Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) assigned Ebreo as the BCPO head on top of his responsibility as the chief of the Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division.
Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, PRO-6 director, said Minong – as the commander of the Regional Public Safety Battalion 6 (RPSB-6) – must focus on matters at hand following the ambush in Maasin, Iloilo.
On Nov. 25, members of the New People’s Army attacked a 6×6 truck of the RPSB, killing a policeman and hurting 12 others, according to Senior Inspector Felix Alianza Jr., Maasin police chief.
Binag said the RPSB needs a senior commander now, thus Minong’s relief in the BCPO.
Minong was assigned at the BCPO last month, replacing then acting director Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky.
Binag appealed to Bacolodnons to support Ebreo.
“He is a good leader. He has a background of the city. He once studied the security, peace and order situation of Bacolod, particularly during MassKara Festival 2017,” Binag said./PN
