THE Manila International Airport Authority on Monday urged passengers to be at the airport at least 2 to 3 hours before their flight in anticipation of the Christmas rush.

Overseas Filipino workers are also expected to arrive as Christmas nears, MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal told DZMM, adding the public should be patient.

Filipino authorities will make sure flights are on time, but “operational problems” with airlines sometimes can’t be avoided, he said.

Passengers should keep their cash in hand-carried bags. If the amount exceeds $10,000, the money should be declared to customs officers, he said.

The Bureau of Immigration earlier placed several electronic immigration gates in Manila, Cebu, and Davao airports to help ease passenger traffic. (With ABS-CBN News/PN)
