BACOLOD City – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacolod City Fire Station is calling on the public to take an active role in this year’s Fire Prevention Month, which kicks off on March 1 with a citywide motorcade.
The BFP is inviting residents, stakeholders, and partner agencies to participate in the motorcade launch, aimed at strengthening public awareness and promoting shared responsibility in preventing fires.
The Bacolod City Fire Station, under the leadership of City Fire Marshal Supt. Jenny Mae C. Masip, carries this year’s theme, “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa,” underscoring the importance of collective action in safeguarding lives and property.
The month-long observance will officially begin at 6 a.m. on March 1 with a motorcade passing through major thoroughfares in the city. The activity will culminate in a simultaneous blowing of horns, symbolizing unity and the formal start of Fire Prevention Month 2026.

Meanwhile, Fire Chief Supt. Rodolfo Denaga, regional director of BFP–Negros Island Region (NIR), earlier emphasized that fire prevention efforts must extend beyond the annual March observance.
Among the key initiatives lined up are the “Bombero sa Paaralan” program, fire safety roadshows, and house-to-house inspections targeting grassroots communities. These activities aim to educate students, families, and business owners on fire hazards, emergency preparedness, and practical safety measures.
