BACOLOD City — To ensure a safe and secure environment during the MassKara Festival 2025, which runs from October 1 to 19, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted a comprehensive fire safety inspection on October 3 at key festival sites.
Under the supervision of Fire Superintendent Jenny Mae Masip, City Fire Marshal, the inspection covered kiosks and food stalls at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) and Bacolod Public Plaza. A total of 23 Fire Safety Inspectors were deployed to check compliance with fire safety regulations.
The activity aims to prevent fire incidents, safeguard business operators, and protect the public by ensuring strict adherence to safety standards.
Masip emphasized the importance of vigilance and cooperation. “Our mission is not only to enforce regulations but to protect lives and properties. Fire safety is a shared responsibility,” she said.
The City Fire Station reiterated its commitment to promoting fire prevention, ensuring public safety, and supporting city initiatives for a secure festival environment.
Food kiosks at festival sites, which often use cooking equipment, gas tanks, and electrical connections, can pose fire hazards if not properly monitored. The BFP reminded vendors and the public that safety compliance is essential to prevent accidents and protect both people and property.
