BACOLOD City – An executive assistant to Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia will oversee public markets, cemeteries and the plaza on Nov. 1 and 2.
Ernesto Pineda shall help enforce traffic plans and maintain peace and order in coordination with the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office and Bacolod City Police Office and its Traffic Management Unit.
With the help of the City Treasurer’s Office and the Permits and Licensing Division, Pineda shall also make sure all permits, licenses and special fees are duly applied for and paid, Leonardia said in a memo dated Oct. 24.
Pineda shall also tap the Department of Public Services in maintaining cleanliness and collecting garbage after the All Saints’ and All Souls’ days.
Pineda said he already met with the concerned offices in connection with his new assignment.
He said the city will collect P400 from vendors selling flowers and candles at cemeteries, markets and the plaza.
The amount will cover the special permit (P200), business tax (P100) and garbage collection (P100)./PN
