THE deadline for the filing, payment of taxes, as well as submission of documents due early October has been extended until October 31 for taxpayers affected by the strong earthquake that struck Cebu, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said.
BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. said in a social media post that the extended deadline will cover taxpayers under the following revenue district offices:
* RDO No. 80 – Mandaue City, Cebu
* RDO No. 81 – Cebu City North
* RDO No. 83 – Talisay City, Cebu
* RDO No. 123 – Large Taxpayers Division – Cebu
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, a total of 366,360 people or 80,595 families were affected by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu on September 30. (GMA Integrated News)
