BACOLOD City – Bishop Patricio Buzon of the Diocese of Bacolod reminded the faithful to allow Jesus’ luminosity to light up every family and every community this Christmas season.
Buzon issued the reminder as the nine-day Simbang Gabi began early yesterday morning.
Hundreds of worshippers gathered in various Catholic churches in the diocese, the first time a substantial number of people attended in droves after most restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted nationwide.
In his message, Buzon reminded the faithful to let Christ be a part of their daily lives.
“Nagakalipay kita sang pagdaog sang kapawa batok sa kadudulman, si Hesus ang kapawa sang kalibutan,” Buzon said in the two minute-long message played prior to the Misa de Aguinaldo mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral in this city.
Buzon encouraged the faithful to renewed hope as the darkness brought by the COVID-19 pandemic fades away.
“Kita tanan nakalampuwas sa krisis tungod sa aton pagtuo sa Diyos, sa kaayuhan sang isa kag isa, kag sa kapag-on sang aton katilingban,” he added./PN
