ILOILO – Fourth District Provincial Board member Roland Distura is recuperating at a hospital in Iloilo City. He earlier tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Wala na ako symptoms,” Distura told Panay News yesterday.
He underwent a repeat reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test and welcomed the result – negative for COVID-19.
“Puede na ako maka-full recovery sa balay,” Distura said.
He experienced fatigue, head and body aches on Aug. 16 and was advised by his private doctor to undergo RT-PCR test.
Distura said he had no idea where he got the virus.
“May sitwasyon kon kaisa nga…sample nagbakal kape, nga take-out. You do not realize nga basi ang cup…kay siempre pagbukas mo or tulod mo sang kamot basi mga dira bala. Luwas sina, may nagakadto man sa imo nga indi mo mapunggan. Alang-alang indi mo pag-atubangon,” said Distura.
Distura was thankful he was fully vaccinated with Sinovac; his symptoms were mild.
He encouraged healthcare workers, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities and economic frontliners to get vaccinated.
