ILOILO City – An owner and a tenant of a boardinghouse on Jereos Road Extension in Barangay Lopez Jaena Sur, La Paz district lost valuables to robbers, a police report showed.
The suspect, who remained unidentified as of press time, barged into the boardinghouse at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the 37-year-old owner Derrick Tinguha.
Tinguha was sleeping in his bedroom when he heard a noise from the second floor. When he got up to check, he saw someone rushing to leave his boardinghouse, the owner told the La Paz police.
At the time, the 43-year-old tenant Aimee Dimapilis said, a man they could not identify barged into their bedroom while she and her husband were sleeping.
Tinguha lost a Lenovo cellphone worth P8,000, P800 cash, and a Telepad – items placed in his bedroom. Investigation showed his bedroom door was unlocked and may have allowed the suspect to easily enter.
Dimapilis, on the other hand, lost a gray iPhone S5 worth P20,000 and P700 cash. Police said the suspect may have slashed the screen of their bedroom window and detached four glass jalousie slats to gain entry.
Police have yet to identify and catch the suspect as of press time./PN
