ILOILO City – A 75-year-old woman was taken to the Jaro police station yesterday.
Merlita Juario, a resident of the district’s Barangay Sambag, was caught engaging in the illegal numbers game bookies, police said.
Recovered from her were P520 bet money and gambling paraphernalia.
She would be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9287, which increases penalties for illegal numbers games, amending certain provisions of Presidential Decree 1602./PN
