ELMER Britanico and Andrei Iory Salvador ruled the Class B and the 12 and Under categories of the Iloilo Provincial Chess Association (IPCA) Invitational Chess Tournament in La Paz, Iloilo City.
Britanico, a native of Oton, Iloilo, claimed the overall championship in Class B. Raymart Gallo of Pavia, Iloilo finished second while Billy Villanueva placed third.
Britanico brought home the top prize of P500. Gallo had P400 while Villanueva settled for P200.
Salvador won the overall title in the 12 and Under while Via Joy Enot and Angelo Gabriel Balboa placed second and third, respectively.
Salvador pocketed the top prize of P500 as Enot and Balboa settled for P400 and P200, respectively.
The IPCA, which organized the March 3 tournament, said the prizes of the top three finishers were based on 80 percent of the total registration. The event hd no sponsors./PN
