BACOLOD City – Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, head of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO), thanked residents living in areas subject to clearing operations in the city for their cooperation.
The clearing operations aim to ease the traffic in some major roads in the city, Acebuche said.
He added that when his men started clearing the areas, they were not confronted by any resistance from affected residents.
Acebuche attributed this to the information dissemination campaign that the BTAO conducted prior to the clearing operations.
Some residents volunteered to clear their respective areas, Acebuche said.
“The diversion route along Lacson Street going to Shopping has been very okay. It helped a lot in easing traffic in the area,” Acebuche added.
On the other hand, road constructions along Gatuslao Street and Buri Road are ongoing, the BTAO head said.
Acebuche appealed to the public to be patient when stuck in heavy traffic to avoid accidents and problems with other motorists./PN
