BACOLOD City – A butcher was shot to death outside his house in Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
Elvin Tolentino, 33, died of nine gunshot wounds on the head and other parts of the body, said Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, Sipalay City police chief.
Tolentino was about to head to the market around 4 a.m. on April 1 when two unidentified suspects peppered him with bullets, Vargas said, citing investigation.
Police have yet to ascertain the motive, but Vargas said Tolentino was the first in Sipalay to surrender as part of Oplan Double Barrel.
Investigators recovered three empty shells and four live bullets of a .9mm pistol from the crime scene./PN
