ILOILO City – A drunken passenger was detained for failing to pay his taxi fare.
Taxi driver Elvin Benedicto, 23, placed under citizen arrest Anton Noble, 25, of Barangay Damilisan, Miag-ao, Iloilo.
Noble hired Benedicto at Smallville entertainment complex in Mandurriao district around 3 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24 and asked to be taken Barangay Sinikway, Lapuz, a police report showed.
Noble’s fare reached P210. The passenger tried to stall but failed to hand over the money, the report showed.
This prompted Benedicto, who works for GDR Taxi, to take Noble to the La Paz police station where the latter was detained./PN
