ILOILO City – Policemen arrested a gunrunning suspect in an entrapment operation in Barangay Jelicuon, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
Rubiny Adorable, 48, was detained at the Cabatuan police station. His companion, however, managed to flee.
Superintendent Julius Jacinto of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) identified Adorable’s companion as Michael Jancilan of Barangay Malipayon, Iloilo City.
Jancilan fled after getting the money from CIDG’s operative posing as gun buyer, said Jacinto.
The entrapment was carried out on Wednesday around 4 p.m. at Adorable’s house. The undercover police officer bought a .45 pistol with two magazines for P20,000.
A grenade was recovered from Adorable, too.
Jancilan used a motorcycle to flee, said Jacinto.
As of this writing, Jancilan’s whereabouts remained unknown. Jacinto linked him to slain drug lord Melvin Odicta Sr., too.
Jancilan was also a suspect in the shooting of Police Officer 1 Rizalde Henarios of Barangay Pal-agon, Pavia, Iloilo and Freddie Animas of Barangay Maliao, Pavia in 2013, and the death of Senior Police Officer 1 Rex delos Reyes in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental in 2014./PN
