NEGRENSE players have dominated the Cadiz Knights Chess Club Rapid Chess Tournament in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Aeron Keif Charles Sinining scored 5.5 points to capture the 16 and Under boys championship. James Saldavia and Clark Ken Pelione landed on second and third places with 4.5 points.
Kenneth Allen Ballo-allo, Tyrone Dale Yao and John Laurence Tabotabo scored 4 each to share the fourth to sixth places. Rounding out the top 10 were Jamon Cajeras, Lhiam Andrie Lingco, Joshua Villaran, and Jose Charles Montalvo.
The Jan. 20 tournament was part of the city’s annual Dinagsa Festival.
In the 16 and Under girls, Natorri Biazza Diaz took the crown with 5 points. Manilyn Cabungcag, Divine Joyce Sarabia, Aera Kerl Charm Sinining, and Elaine Joyce Santiago followed.
Christian Pelione scored 6 points to claim the 12 and Under boys title while Leorich Phi Garcia and John Paul Melivo settled for second and third places, respectively.
Winning the 12 and Under girls title with 6 points was Euza Mae Toremoro. Jamelin Ruth Lim and Jasmine Atienza had 4.5 points to finish on second and third places./PN
