CAPIZ – A Capisnon has brought pride to the province after securing the Top 3 spot of the August 2025 Certified Plant Mechanic Computer-Based Licensure Examination.
Dave Vincent P. Alegre, a resident of Barangay Ilaya, Ivisan town, placed third with 80.05% rating in the prestigious national exam, which is considered a vital credential for aspiring plant mechanics.
In a local radio interview, Alegre admitted he was overwhelmed by the results.
“I couldn’t believe it at first,” he said, recalling how he learned the news when his teacher called to congratulate him.
Alegre recently graduated from Capiz State University main campus with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree. He credited his hard work, discipline, and the unwavering support of his parents as key to his success.
He also shared the challenges he faced in adjusting to the computerized format of the licensure exam, which required him to modify his study habits.
“My goal was just to pass, but I was surprised to be among the topnotchers,” he said.
For Alegre, faith was just as important as perseverance.
“Never forget to pray to God. Prayer is powerful, and if you truly wish for something, it will surely be heard,” he added.
Looking ahead, Alegre is now preparing for the Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination in 2026 as he continues his professional journey in the field of mechanical engineering./PN
