ROXAS City – The quarantine facility being constructed by the provincial government of Capiz for the personnel of its containerized test laboratory for coronavirus disease is now “80 percent” complete, said Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras.

The target completion date of the facility, along with the molecular laboratory, is Nov. 20.

Meanwhile, the quarantine-isolation facility for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients is now 20 percent complete, said Contreras.

It is expected to be fully completed by December this year.

The province’s containerized test laboratory arrived last month. It is stationed within the premises of the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Barangay Lanot here.

With Capiz having its own test laboratory, Contreras said the results of COVID-19 tests could be released faster – a big help to the provincial government’s efforts to stop local coronavirus transmission.

Roxas City also has its own COVID-19 laboratory. It was recently granted a license to operate by the Department of Health./PN
