CAPIZ — The provincial government of Capiz, under the leadership of Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, participated in the simultaneous kickoff of Brigada Eskwela 2025 in two school division offices (SDOs) on June 9.
Opening ceremonies were held at Dao National High School in Dao town and at the Roxas City School of Philippine Craftsmen (RCSPC) in Barangay Lanot, Roxas City.
Atty. Luvim D. Amores, Provincial Information Officer and concurrent head of the Human Resource Management Office, represented Gov. Castro during the events.
This year’s Brigada Eskwela carries the theme “Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa” which underscores the importance of both maintaining safe, clean learning spaces and strengthening students’ reading proficiency.
The theme aligns with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) strategic goals outlined in DepEd Order No. 12, s. 2025, which emphasizes collaborative efforts among educators, parents, and communities to support learning and literacy.
Per the same DepEd order, Brigada Eskwela 2025 will run from June 9 to 13, ahead of the opening of classes on June 16.
In Dao, the kickoff was attended by Vice Gov. James “Mitang” Magbanua, Mayor Jose Jimbo Barruela, Capiz SDO Superintendent Roel Bermejo, and representatives from various provincial offices and local organizations.
Meanwhile, in Roxas City, local officials led by Dr. Renato Ballesteros, CESO V, joined the ceremony at RCSPC, together with teachers, parents, students, and volunteers from community groups in support of the nationwide school readiness initiative./PN
