As of morbidity week 27 (January 5 to July 5, 2025), a total of 816 dengue cases have been recorded, with four reported deaths. This is 26.32% higher than the 646 cases recorded during the same timeframe in 2024.
The highest number of cases was reported in Roxas City, which logged 285 cases and one death. Other municipalities with high case counts include Tapaz (109), Jamindan (55, with two deaths), Panay (51), and Mambusao (43).

Data also showed that 27.45% of the patients were aged 10 to 19 years old, with the youngest case being a 10-month-old infant and the oldest a 94-year-old.
Several barangays were identified as dengue hotspots due to case clustering, including Agambulong in Jamindan; and Baybay, Bolo, Cagay, Culasi, Punta Tabuc, Tanque, and Tiza in Roxas City.
In response, the Capiz Provincial Health Office (CPHO), in coordination with the provincial government, continues to intensify its 5S Kontra Lamok campaign, which emphasizes five key preventive measures against dengue. These include search and destroy breeding sites, self-protection measures, seek early consultation, support fogging in hotspot areas, and sustain adequate hydration.
The CPHO urges the public to remain vigilant and cooperate in maintaining clean surroundings to help curb the spread of dengue in the province./PN
