ILOILO City – A car hit an ambulance’s rear, further injuring a patient being transported to a hospital.
Four other persons were hurt, including the driver of the car, police said.
The vehicular accident took place in Barangay Taft North, Mandurriao district on Sunday around 3:35 p.m.
The patient in the ambulance was 84-year-old Narciso Miser. From Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC), he was being transferred to the Iloilo Mission Hospital, according to Police Officer 3 Alfredo Masamong, traffic investigator.
Three relatives of Miser with him in the ambulance were hurt – Joemarie Emmanuel, 48; Jeanette Vistal, 47; and Charmaine Compas, 23. All were residents of Barangay Sarague, Pototan, Iloilo.
Dr. Nico Betita, resident doctor of WVMC accompanying Miser, was also hurt.
The car driver, Maria Glenda Ycoy, 49, of Arevalo, Iloilo City was taken to The Medical City.
Ambulance driver Roland Gabuyan was unscathed./PN
