ILOILO City – A man was robbed of his Lenovo mobile phone at knifepoint near the University of the Philippines Visayas, Iloilo City campus.
According to complainant Hendry Buencuchillo, the robbery was carried out around 1:20 a.m. on Jan. 12.
A man wearing a black jacket threatened to stab him with a knife if he won’t give up his phone, Buencuchillo told Police Station 1.
The suspect ran away after getting the victim’s phone but with the help of a civilian, Buencuchillo managed to subdue him.
Suspect Rolly Perez was taken to Police Station 1.
A follow-up police operation led to the arrest of Perez’s suspected accomplice, Rusty Alcoran.
Alcoran yielded a 13-inch knife and Buencuchillo’s cell phone./PN
