Catriona Gray visits children orphaned by the drug war

MISS Universe 2018 Catriona Gray visited the children orphaned by the campaign against illegal drugs in St. Peter’s Parish, Quezon City on Wednesday during her Charity Day.

As Catriona walked in, the children under the Program for Orphans – a platform under the church ministry Abot Kamay Alang-alang sa Pagbabago (AKAP) Pamilya Program – hugged Catriona and offered her roses.

The beauty queen stood with the organization in calling the public’s attention to the lack of concrete intervention programs for the orphaned children.

During the event, Catriona said to the children, “Never forget that you are loved and wanted, and that God loves you.”

She added that despite everything, the children are blessed to have found a family among the community that supports them.

As the children performed a dance number for the beauty queen, Catriona also stood up and danced with the children.

Before they parted ways, Catriona made sure to interact with the children on a personal level. Afterwards, she handed good and gifts to the kids of AKAP before waving goodbye.

To this date, AKAP Pamilya only has four centers where the children can seek refuge, and are mainly established in North Quezon City. (GMA News)
