Cauayan house yields firearm, grenade, bullets

BACOLOD City – A gun, a grenade and bullets were seized from a house in Purok 8, Barangay Tiling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

Police searched the house of the 66-year-old Victor Caduhada Gonzales at around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Gonzales was arrested and detained at the Cauayan police station, said Chief Inspector James Latayon, municipal police officer-in-charge.

Among those recovered from the house, according to the police, were:

* a hand grenade

* a .357 revolver (serial no. 91843)

* three live bullets of a .357 revolver

* three live bullets of a .38 pistol

* six live bullets of a 5.56 firearm

* a live bullet of a .9mm pistol

Judge Conrado Estreller Jr. of the Municipal Trial Court (Cauayan) issued the search warrant.

Gonzales faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
