BACOLOD City – The city council is requesting the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) to remove or relocate the electric posts affected by road-widening projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Councilor Caesar Distrito, who authored a resolution regarding the request, said he is referring to the posts particularly located on Burgos Street Extension, Barangay Estefania.
In the resolution, Distrito cited that the Ceneco shall remove the posts within 30 days.
The councilor explained that it is the duty of the city government to ensure the safety of its constituents.
“A certain electric post on Burgos Street Extension, Barangay Estefania got broken which endangers the safety of passing motorists and pedestrians,” Distrito said.
He added that Ceneco has to repair the post and relocate it to a safer area to avoid accidents./PN
