CENTERPHIL Montessori Silver Knights continued its winning ways in the 2017 Iloilo Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Basketball following an 83-55 win over Central Philippine University Golden Lions in the classification semifinals round at the Iloilo Sports Complex gym.

Veteran Charles Sindol led the way with 20 points while Ronald Silorio, Patrick John Gain and Wilmar Silverio contributed 13, 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Silver Knights.

Silver Knights waxed hot early on conversions from Sindol and Silorio to immediately build a 20-point advantage in the first half before widening the lead further to as high as 30 points in the second half.

The victory allowed Silver Knights to advance to the Group B classification finals, where it will face John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University Dolphins on Thursday afternoon.

A win over Dolphins will allow Silver Knights to move on to the tournament quarterfinals, and then the semifinals and the championship rounds. All the games will be a knockout affair.

“We know it will be an uphill climb for us to reach our goal of bagging the ISSA championship but I believe in our players. We will take it one game at a time,” said CenterPhil owner Mark Plagata Palabrica.

On its way to the Group B classification semifinals round, Silver Knights scored lopsided victories over Santa Isabel International School (103-41) and Iloilo Scholastic Academy (97-44)./PN
