BACOLOD City – Cash and other items were lost to three men who feigned as passengers in a Ceres bus heading to Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
The suspects – who were armed with guns and bladed weapons – took the bus with body number 5169 in Silay City, Negros Occidental on Nov. 5, a police report showed.
The suspects declared holdup upon reaching the national highway in Barangay Tortosa, Manapla, Negros Occidental around 7:40 p.m. on the same day, the report further stated.
Police identified two of the susepcts as the 26-year-old Marco Batislaon and Gabriel Constantino Pacqiao, 24, who were detained at the Manapla police station lockup facility.
The other suspect was still unidentified and at large, police said.
The culprits pointed their guns and a bladed weapon at fare collector Narvin Tapang, 21, of Toboso, Negros Occidental and took from him the P2,000 bus fare collection and his P500 cash.
They also stole money and items from the passengers, including P4,300 cash and an automated teller machine card from Jason Baya, 21, a Samsung cellphone worth P5,000 and a black bag worth P700 from Dismond Magillano, 19, two cellphones worth P10,000, pocket WiFi and a red bag containing P500 cash from Chrishell Mahinay, 20, a cellphone worth P500 from Kevin Lumayno, and Social Security System card and voter’s identification card from Jhonvie Gallon, 26.
The suspects fled after the robbery.
The bus was driven by the 48-year-old Glecerio Gao Jr. of Toboso, Negros Occidental.
Vallacar Transit, Inc., operator of Ceres buses, will file robbery charges against the suspects./PN
