MANILA – Ceres Negros signed two more Philippine Azkals members as it engages in international and local campaigns.
Goal keeper Ronald Muller and Iain Ramsay moved to the Bacolod City-based football team, which is aiming to bounce back from its two runner-up finishes last year.
Ceres Negros earlier signed Azkals mainstays Simone Rota, Junior Muñoz, Jose Elmer Porteria, Jason de Jong, and Joshua Grommen.
Japanese Kota Kawase and Spanish Manuel Herrera and Fernando Rodriguez were also enlisted by the team.
The 10 new players filled the gap left by Marwin and Marvin Angeles, Nathaniel Burkey, Jason Sabio, Stephan Schrock, Victorino Son, Adrian Gallardo-Valdes, Valentine Kama, Kim Sang-Min, and Yong Son Chan.
Ceres Negros technical director Ali Go said they are currently rebuilding after finishing as runner-up in the 2016 United Football League (UFL) and Cup divisions.
The squad will once again join the 2017 Asian Football Confederation Cup. Some of the games will be held at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
Ceres Negros will also compete in the Philippine Football League, where some of its UFL rivals have also transferred./PN
