Checks, land titles, scholarships given at ‘Biyaya ng Pagbabago’ expo in Capiz

ROXAS City – Checks, land titles and scholarships, among others, were distributed during the launch and rollout of the government’s “Biyaya ng Pagbabago” program at the Capiz Gym in this capital city.

Biyaya ng Pagbababago tungo sa Masagana at Matiwasay na Buhay Pilipino (Biyaya ng Pagbabago or BNP) is a program that aims to bring the various poverty alleviation programs of the national government to the communities to reach the people down to the grassroots level. The program was organized by the Office of Participatory Governance/Office of the Cabinet Secretary.

The program started with the opening of Biyaya Expo which was participated by different national government agencies. Its highlight was the distribution and awarding of “Biyaya” by these agencies to their respective beneficiaries.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) turned over three checks which totaled to P2,412,439 to beneficiary barangays under its Integrated Livelihood Program.

A check which amounted to P940,539 was released to Barangay Dumolog, Roxas City, Capiz for its integrated livelihood project for small entrepreneurs.

Barangay Pawa, Panay, Capiz also received a check amounting to P475,840 for its integrated livelihood project for Talanganan, Cambuyayao, Insulan Homeworkers Association.

Barangay Lucero, Jamindan, Capiz, meanwhile, received a check amounting to P996,060, which will be for its communal swine fattening and poultry farm project.

Furthermore, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office gave five wheelchairs to beneficiaries in the province.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, on the other hand, gave out 75 scholarships.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources also participated in the program by distributing checks, contracts and land titles.

The Philippine Coconut Authority also distributed checks to its coconut farmer-beneficiaries.

The Department of Agrarian Reform, meanwhile, distributed 163 Certificate of Land Ownership Awards under its Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

The National Irrigation Administration awarded 36 certificates to agricultural associations while the Department of Science and Technology awarded its beneficiaries in President Roxas and Cuartero of their program benefits under its Community to Empowerment through Science and Technology Program.
